Description

Bring comfort and relief with the Solace Mastectomy Pillow.  This post-surgery pillow keeps arm pressure off the body.  A shoulder strap helps keep the pillow in place.  The pocket can be utilized for an ice pack.  Solace is also useful underneath a seatbelt to relieve pressure on the surgical area, and also as a cough pillow.

Styles:

Both styles: pocket for hot/cold pack.

Style A: tied shoulder strap with two straight ties.

Style B: adjustable strap with rings and slider.

Finished Dimensions:

Pillow: 12”/30cm wide, 10”/25.4cm long

Pocket: 12”/30cm wide, 4 1/2”/11.4cm deep

Fabrics & Trims:

Fabrics: suitable for both wovens and knits, such as premium quilting cotton, lawn, double brushed poly and minky.  Softness is the most important factor when choosing a fabric.

Stuffing: polyester fiber fill

Straps: twill tape, ribbon, or for Style B bra strap elastic.

Style B (adjustable strap): 2 O-rings, 1 slider; ½”/12mm opening.

Skill level:

Easy.  This pattern utilizes straight stitches, and a small amount of hand sewing.  Instructions are fully illustrated.  A full video sewing tutorial can be found on my YouTube channel.
